Assessments

Want a clearer picture of what is going on? Need a roadmap for truly feeling better? Schedule an assessment. During an assessment, your counselor will gather details about your presenting issues and concerns as well as a thorough personal history. Recommendations for treatment are discussed, giving you solid options for steps to move forward. Assessment appointments are scheduled for 60-90 minutes.

Intake paperwork can be completed online or can be downloaded, filled out, and emailed to us or brought to the first session.

Individual Sessions

This is your safe place — just for you. Individual counseling is a great fit for people who want to lay out their thoughts and feelings with someone who can be trusted. Through personalized sessions, you can experience greater self-awareness and mindset growth. Free of judgement, you can be you, set your goals, and have compassionate accountability as you work on healing and growing.

The time is yours; the space is yours. Individual sessions can range from 30 minutes to 120 minutes. Usually weekly appointments are the best way to start out. You will complete an assessment first, then schedule sessions based on your counselor’s recommendations and your needs.

Couples Counseling

Relationships sometimes need a tune-up, too. Whether intentional or not, heartache and heaviness can lead to distance and bitterness in relationships. Couples counseling can be very effective at helping people get back to neutral, re-align, and spring into reconnection with each other.

Maybe you are the one who is ready. You’ve suggested it, but you aren’t sure if he/she will come. You can get started, and we can invite people to join session at any time. Sometimes it’s helpful to show how serious we are in order to be taken seriously. You will complete an assessment first, and then schedule sessions from there.

support groups / Classes

Life is not meant to be done alone. If you are feeling isolated and could use a supportive community that provides compassion and encouragement, a group setting may be a fit for you. Led by an experienced clinician, Balance Point groups are equal parts learning and sharing in a safe, judgement-free zone.

Topics include life-changing events (breakup, separation, divorce, birth of a child), parenting issues, career-family balance, relationship issues (infidelity, communication, connection), emotional health and intelligence, and other general issues related to life’s demands.

**Call (330) 625-8807 for current Group offerings and DATES/TIMES & all clients must complete aN individual diagnostic assessment prior to joining the group.

trauma therapy

Treatment for trauma recovery is a main specialty of Balance Point. When life has happened and you are working to regain your footing, we are here for you and can help you move forward. It may have just happened or maybe it happened a long time ago — doesn’t matter. Our clinicians can walk you through a structured treatment that will allow your body, mind, and spirit to heal and find peace. We will go at your pace. No matter where you are with it, we will meet you where you are and walk alongside you as you heal.

Sessions range from 60 - 120 minutes per session and can be scheduled weekly or more often if needed. You will complete an assessment first, and then get started with treatment.

telehealth sessions

Who doesn’t love options? Balance Point offers telehealth assessments and sessions to anyone living in Ohio. Telehealth allows you to meet with your therapist from wherever you are, making it easier than ever to fit in an appointment. Over-the-phone, through an easy-to-use app, or online, you and your therapist can decide the best way to connect. Most insurances offer reimbursement for telehealth sessions. While telehealth may not be for everyone, it is a valid option to try and a solid next step for many people — especially for those who aren’t sure when they would fit therapy in.

If possible and you live in the Wayne-Holmes-Stark vicinity, we like to have the assessment scheduled as an in-person appointment and then move to telehealth sessions, but it is not required.
